Bellevue
Alumnae Chapter members team with the East King County YWCA to help children
start the school year with the proper supplies!
Bellevue Alumnae Chapter members
continue to provide their support to women and children at the YWCA Family
Village. The Family Village provides a safe and stable place for homeless families to recover
from crisis and begin the process of rebuilding their lives. Many Sorors
donated book bags to the Family Village as well as families impacted by
hurricane Katrina.
Each year the YWCA provides a
list of supply items, and from that list chapter members work together to
purchase or gather supplies to fill book bags. This year's contribution
included students from kindergarten through high school. Proud Grandmother
Soror Pauline Hill, purchased several bags for kindergarten girls while also
purchasing a bag for her kindergarten granddaughter!
The donation by the Bellevue Alumnae Chapter will go a long way in
helping mothers with the cost of new school supplies and in
building the self-esteem of students as they enter critical years in their
education!
